Oracle EPBCS

Oracle Planning Budgeting Cloud Service

Oracle PBCS is a product of Oracle Cloud called Planning Budgeting Cloud Service (PBCS) which has been renamed as Planning and Budgeting Cloud recently. Oracle's Planning Cloud authorizes all sizes of businesses to quickly acquire world-class arranging and investment applications without any infrastructure investments. PBCS is the first Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) product on cloud and it is an application based on Oracle Hyperion Planning that supports enterprise-wide planning, budgeting, and forecasting in the cloud. PBCS’s main functions are same as the Oracle Hyperion Planning on-premises. PBCS imparts a rich Web and Microsoft Office enabled planning and modeling framework that supports driver-based planning to help connect operational presumptions to financial outcomes.Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service offers integrations with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, which uses the “Smart View” plugin for arranging and investment reports; which  means that customers can view planning data forms from within Microsoft Excel with the same functionality as the web-based interface. Both interfaces support ad-hoc analysis of data where row, column and page dimensions can be rotated to create different views of the same data.

Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service (PBCS) is a cloud-based solution offered by Oracle to help organizations with their financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. Please note that there might have been updates or changes to the service since then.

Key features and capabilities of Oracle PBCS typically include:

1.   Cloud-Based Platform: PBCS is a cloud-based solution, which means users can access it from anywhere with an internet connection. This eliminates the need for on-premises infrastructure and allows for easy collaboration among users in different locations.

2.   Financial Planning and Budgeting: The primary purpose of PBCS is to facilitate financial planning and budgeting processes within an organization. Users can create and manage budgets, forecasts, and plans using the platform.

3.   Scenario Modeling: PBCS often provides scenario modeling capabilities, allowing users to create and analyze different financial scenarios. This helps organizations make informed decisions based on various what-if analyses.

4.   Integration with Other Systems: Integration capabilities with other Oracle Cloud applications, as well as on-premises systems, are essential for seamless data flow between different business applications.

5.   Collaboration and Workflow: PBCS typically includes collaboration features and workflow capabilities to streamline the budgeting and planning processes. This may include approval workflows and task management.

6.   Reporting and Analytics: The ability to generate reports and perform analytics on budgeting and planning data is crucial. PBCS often comes with built-in reporting tools or integrates with other Oracle reporting solutions.

7.   Security and Compliance: Given the sensitive nature of financial data, PBCS places a strong emphasis on security features. This includes role-based access control and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

8.   User-Friendly Interface: The platform usually provides a user-friendly interface, making it accessible to financial analysts and planners who may not have extensive technical expertise.
